Industry: Nutrition sales and education
Year Founded: 1997
Owner: Glenn A. Kikel
About the owner: I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Miami University of Ohio. During college I traveled throughout Europe and the United States. In 1983 I moved to New Hampshire and ran a successful conference center. I moved to Austin in 1994 with my wife and two year old daughter.

Products and Services: We operate three related businesses from our South Austin location. We represented the largest and oldest professional nutritional supplement company in America, Standard Process, Inc. We carry over 300 nutritional and herbal products. Our second business, ACN Seminars, Inc. puts on Continuing Education Seminars for health professionals at our conference center in South Austin, approximately once every month. Our third business, The Austin Centre, is a 7000 square foot conference building in South Austin which is rented weekly for private seminars, and meetings to area businesses, as well as hosting our own nutrition seminars.

History: The Austin Centre is the youngest of our three businesses. It began by purchasing an office building on South Second Street and totally remodeling it. We hosted our first continuing education nutrition seminar on December 3-4th, 2007. The Austin Centre already has five employees - a chef, two event planners, an office manager and a maintenance man.

Locations: Our conference center is located at 3809 South Second St., Ste. A 100, Austin, TX 78704. We are one block west of the South First and Ben White intersection. We recently moved to this location from Oak Hill.
