Products and Services: DogBoy's Dog Ranch is a full-service boarding kennel offering boarding, training and doggie day care. Dogs at DogBoy's get to play all day with other compatible dogs on 15 acres of fun.
It's like a combination between a kennel and a dog park.
DogBoy's trainers focus only on positive methods, we care about diet and its effect on behavior and overall health, we're all spayed and neutered as a matter of principle, and our services are all-inclusive. This means that playtime with other dogs, medication, special diets, and any other special needs are included in the price. Getting dirty is part of the fun, so baths and nail clips are cheap. Our dog-loving staff will treat your dog like they treat their own, which means top notch care and a warm family atmosphere. Come Play!
History: Bart "DogBoy" Emken, graduated from UT with an advertising degree and realized very early on that the corporate life wasn't for him. Bart soon headed back to UT to explore other career options. While on campus, Bart witnessed a guide dog stop a blind man from falling down a flight of stairs and knew right then and there that dogs were going to be a big part of his future. After working at a local kennel, and then for a local trainer, Bart began training dogs at the Austin Humane Society and pet sitting. In 1995, when Bart was ready to take the leap of faith into the world of dogs as a career, his wife joined him and helped out with the administrative side of the business. Bart and Courtney now have over 6,000 dogs they call clients and more new ones coming in the door daily. It's no wonder the Austin Chronicle has awarded them the winner of Best Pet Care three times, and that they fill up for Thanksgiving and Christmas each January. Kennels like this one are hard to come by!
